These
Are My Mountains...
an evening of songs and stories
with Heartwood Legend
Recorded live by Dr. Ted Ledford, October 30,2001
at the Chalet in Little Switzerland, NC, this 100
minute video captures the final
performance of a rare and delightful combination of musicians.
Heartwood Legend, featuring Terry McKinney, guitar;
M. King Goslin, guitar;
Johanna Logan Cooper, acoustic bass; and Jo Northup, hammered
dulcimer and flute, is an amazing and unexpected
adventure . . . blending
the best in natural musicianship and diverse musical traditions
to create These Are My Mountains.
Presented weekly at The Orchard at Altapass during
the summer of 2001, These Are My Mountains is a
memorable encounter with
local history, honoring the beautiful
mountains God gave us and the people who have called them home . . . a
tribute to our fascinating past and hopeful future
. . . captivatingly portrayed
in engaging true stories and exciting traditional and original
music by artists who live
here and continue to be inspired by our mountains.
While Terry, King, Johanna and Jo no longer appear
together as Heartwood Legend, they each have continued
to pursue musical endeavors in their own
traditions.
Terry is a regular entertainer at The Orchard at Altapass during the
summer season and also performs with Clear Creek
(bluegrass) and his family band.
King began
Gracious Light Music in 2003 and directs Land of the Sky Symphonic Band
in Asheville. Johanna performs with the Gracious Light Trio and continues
to
work on her albums
of original music. Jo continues to perform regularly for special events
at Biltmore Estate and recently produced her 3rd compilation album there,
Biltmore
Estate
Christmas Vol. II. Together for a season, they created something magical.
It is available now in this one-of a-kind video
for your pleasure.
