Welcome to Gracious Light Music!
We are glad you stopped by . . .

As we begin our fourth year of providing service, we are especially grateful to all of our clients who have entrusted us with their special events.

In 2005 we were again privileged to present numerous musical performances and programs throughout Western North Carolina.  In January we began planting seeds for the exciting events to come - preparing Celtic Dreams Solo Piano for Heather Glen at ArdenWoods,  working with Deborah Austin and Bittersweet Productions in selecting and arranging music for a “Turn of the Century” Fashion Show for Biltmore Estate Festival of Flowers 2005 . . . only to find ourselves performing outdoors in April in “Blizzard Attire” - the first perfomance was accompanied by high wind, bright sun, 40 degee temperatures and occasional SNOWFLAKES!

Solid Brass Belles and WinterWood Consort alternated weekends entertaining guests in the Italian Garden while Gracious Light Trio continued to provide music for the characters and costumes in the Fashion Show.  Johanna discovered that she actually liked playing bass in a purple silk flapper dress!

In early May, King was chosen to perform in Gatlinburg, Tennessee representing the music and musicians of Biltmore Estate’s Candlelight Christmas.  After bidding farewell to Weaverville United Methodist Church - leaving the position of Music Director in the competent hands of Gail Price - King enjoyed performing on Euphonium and Bass Guitar in a concert with the Asheville Community Band at the Folk Art Center on the Blue Ridge Parkway and attending the Great American Brass Band Festival in Danville, Kentucky.

The Yellow House  B&B in Waynesville was host to MorningStar on more than one occasion, as was the Well-Bred Bakery and Cafe in Weaverville . . . weddings continued . . . our home office moved to Fletcher, North Carolina.

New constellations of musicians began to emerge - Lady Bluegrass performed as part of Harvest Home 2005 . . .

and old friends reunited as Heartwood presented “Appalachian Roots” in the Italian garden in October - (without SNOWFLAKES!)

Once again came the annual pleasure of performing for Candlelight Christmas  and sharing some wonderful moments with guests from everywhere . . . as well as the honor of debuting “A Gracious Light Christmas” at Mayland Community College in Spruce Pine, North Carolina.

Wow!  What a great adventure of a year!!

Especially fulfilling - and deeply meaningful - has been the time spent with those who reside in assisted living centers.  Without fail, however much we brought, we came home with more . . . more love, more old songs they would share and teach, more knowing about why it is so important to make music and take it where it is most needed.

As you browse our web site, we hope you will find something to enjoy.   If you haven’t visited us in awhile, please be sure to check out our recent additions and updates.  We are looking forward to a great year ahead . . . and we hope it will include providing musical services for your special event!
