Solid Brass Belles...
Asheville’s “first ladies of brass”
This dynamic and high-spirited quartet features Asheville’s “first ladies of brass” on trumpets, euphonium and tuba. Bringing a combined total of 153 years of musical experience to each performance, the Belles specialize in traditional holiday, ceremonial and classical chamber music. Their strong sense of ensemble combined with refreshing arrangements of familiar music create immediate rapport with the audience.
Solid Brass Belles made their debut at Biltmore Estate Festival of Flowers 2004 performing “La Cucuracha” and “Bicycle Built for Two” as the colorful Biltmore Bugs danced with young guests around the Maypole on the lawn in front of Biltmore House. They were invited to return as part of Christmas 2004 and will be performing at Festival of Flowers 2005 in April under the tent in the Italian Garden.
